Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Instrument Cluster, GTD Rims

    Sorry if this has already been covered, been searching through pages and pages, but has anyone noticed that every now and again the backlights for your instrument cluster will just "turn off"? Not sure if this is just a VW "feature" but have spoken to other MK6 owners and there's do it as well... just wondering if anyone knows why?

    Also, does anyone know the name of the GTD rims below? and also where i can find a set?

    The rims are 17" Seattle. The only time i notice the lights just turning off is when the headlights are on auto and they turn off.

      I didn;t realise they were just the stock option seattles. They looked a little more special than the average seattle out there! haha

        Yeah, they are the seattles but on the GTD they have black inserts and i think a machined finished. Wish my seattles had the black inserts.
