Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    1. The door lock/unlocks button (on the door console) lights up when locked.
    2. The back door pockets are angled to the front, easy to store and retrieve umbrellas from the front seats.

    1. I thought it already did this?
    2. I like your thinking

    I'd add:
    3. Heater / vent / AC settings to be shown higher up on the dash
    4. Volume knob able to be configured for the drivers side

I think what VarkWors mean is existing features that he like, it's not about (non-existent) features that he would like to have

If you can find em :p and besides these our good for those of us with goldfish minds

one very cool feature is if use the boot open Button on the remote it only opens the boot, load your stuff or take something out. As soon as shut the boot it self locks

The foot well lights are cool.

Which the boot had a colapsable organizer. Eg like the citroens do. Be handy to stop stuff rolling around in the boot and collapses away out if sight and mind when not required.

And oh yeah the bleeding sunglasses holder that can't hold em.
            Once had a Red mk6 GTI + DSG + leather + sunroof + mdi + towbar

now have a gorgeous Red Merc A250 AMG Sport

Everyone else must have big sunglasses. Mine fit in the holder perfectly fine.

I turned my footwell lights off. They are distracting when driving at night.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.

I put shopping centre parking tickets in the sunglasses holder. That's the only use I can think of for it.

I enabled the 'turning lights' and am surprised just how good it is.

I'm always worried I'll lock the keys in the car when I use the boot release!

The shopping bag hooks in the rear cargo area are cool!

My friend did exactly that with a rental MKV Golf in Spain. Open the boot with the boot switch.... Put the key down on a bag... retrieved what he wanted and closed the boot. Result.... locked car with only key known to the rental car locked in it.
Were forced to smash a window to get in (ok'd by rental company!!)
