  • Rear wing spoiler gti version on a regular 118tsi

Hello has anyone put a genuine gti/r rear spoiler on a standard 118tsi. I am concerned about the high mount rear brake light as it looks like a different style and place on the 118tsi vs the gti?
See attached for the one that I was going to buy for my 118tsi hatch

Be prepared to spend up to $500 each time when the LED module get's some condensation in it because the dealers won't do it under warranty.

Absolutely. The whole reason the dealers wont cover it as per that report, is because you cann't easily get to the light to replace it yourself, apparently you have to pull the whole thing off. Looks identical to the MK5

When I said the dealers won't do it under warranty I mean because it's been fitted by the owner. If it came with the car the dealers will replace the led unit under warranty at no charge. Once the car is out of warranty it's an expensive fix although there is a way to smash the old led unit out and replace it without removing the spoiler.

In the USA they get it covered under warranty for ten years. We have similar laws to the USA regarding replacing bulbs but the ACCC etc are absolutely useless.
