They were. But on the MK6 they're absent. You can order accessories, or you can get aftermarket (or put ventureshield there etc). The MK6 Golf R has nice metal sill plates though

- How is it possible that I can get 4.8L/100km with this type of performance
4.8L/100KM is very very good. How do you manage that? KM's done? Petrol type? Driving style? I can only manage 4.8L/100KM when I am rolling downhill
otherwise I'd average between 8 and 10L per tank. Although I've done less than 5000KMs.

Don't you get 0.0 l/100k when rolling?

I get 0 every time I roll - even when on a flat road when pulling up to the traffic lights. I once tried to keep the readout at 0 for as long as possible when rolling down Mt Buller while the road was empty, until I saw a Lancer starting to slowly catchup

Interesting.......but then you are driving a 118TSI with a supercharger. One things for sure is that they are more fuel efficient.
Actually on the MFD I'd be referring to the average L per 100kms rather than the real time L per 100kms, which varies literally every second, every bump, turn, gradient change etc... With the real time data, it definately drops to 0.0 when it rolls.
Not too sure which one Hooba or yourself is referring to.
Also, mine is still stock and not APR tuned. I heard the APR tuned engines are more fuel efficient because the higher torque results in it stayin in the highest gear for longer and more often.Last edited by jrgti; 30-12-2010, 06:34 PM.

Yeah - I meant instant fuel consumption. My average is currently around 7.6L, which is up a tad since I've started using manual mode and holding gears for longer and not jumping into 7th asap.

I'll add a good - over 3000km completed in a trip, average fuel consumption 6.8L/100 with running in Brisbane, around a country town for about a week and a half and some very slow driving past the Gold Coast. Plus the 1200km drive home averaged 6.6L/100 including the awful GC bit.GTI | Carbon | Man | 5 door | Leather | 18" Detroit | Bluetooth | MDI | Bi-Xenon
