Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Golf GTI mk6 steering wheel - wrinkly?

Hi guys, I was wondering if you guys are experiencing the same problem with your steering wheel. The leather on mine near the stitching, and where the area where thumbs are meant to rest, are starting to become all wrinkly. I've only had the car for 2 weeks. Are you guys noticing that on yours, or is it just mine? Is it normal? Any way of protecting it?

Just avoid holding it in that way.

I'd be chatting to the dealer, or heading down to a stealership and looking at a few demo GTI's and seeing if they have the same problem, it might me a flaw in the leather on the wheel

I would just take it to my dealer. Usually very good and will sort it right out for you. I have never heard of wrinkly steering wheels whether your a finger man or vice grip man. 2 weeks?!?! More like after 7 years, maybe.

Dealer/VW will be happy to change it and keep there cars A1.

I've driven 4 different Mk6 GTIs and haven't seen this problem, I'd be taking it to the dealer (just hope he doesn't look like this guy).

Guys, take your GTIs to some twisty roads to streach out the steering leather a bit. It might not help but at least you'll enjoy the ride....
