Yeah - it happens all the time.
The sales guy might not have necessarily been lying. He may not have been able to give you a lower price. Maybe something then changed (pending sale, dealer rebates). The finance manager or dealer principal may have cleared a lower price which the sales person wasn't allowed to give before. Maybe the dealer has decided they are fine with making no money from that sale due to the other opportunities for profit (getting your car serviced, accessories, referals etc).
Or he may have just been fibbing
I mean, at the end of the day, if they don't make enough money, they're not going to be there for long

Question: How many surveys are there and who sends them?
I received a card in the mail from VW. It was a survey via AC Nielsen and it had a number that you enter when you log on. The survey had "tick the box" type questions. There was NO place to add comments other than to comment on the actual survey process.
From reading the above posts, it seems that some people had the ability to add comments. So is there a second survey? if so who is it from? what kind it? (online, hard copy etc...?)
