    which dealership was it?

it would be good to know... i know that supposedly, in terms of dealership discussions on VWWA, it's not nice to hurt the feelings of some **** who wouldnt honor what he said he would, but i'd like to know which dealership it is because i dont feel like giving THEM $50k come time for me to upgrade to a GTD.

Hey sorry to hear of your problem.

You should follow up the problem with someone else. You'll find someone good to deal with at your dealer thats why they are still open for business!!

Just go someone else, and yeah If nothing happens go DP. But I understand it to be a bit wierd if you have written down "throwing in Matt's". One would obviously assume that you negotiated for something non-standard.

Otherwise there wouldnt be a need to include other things such "seats" on the pink paper.

Just get a better person there to sort it out.

      SM usually are cool

Maverick has confirmed that the GTI Red Lettering accessory mats are available in Australia. He also mentioned what I feel has probably caused this problem. Customers request "mats" to be included and they're listed on the contract, when they already are included in the car.

I'm sure I wasn't the only one who saw the "Dealer refuses to honor free GTI mats" titled on this and thought to themselves "but the GTI mats are standard!". If the OP simply requested "GTI mats" and wasn't specific that he wanted the dealer accessory order-in mats with red embroided GTI emblem and red edging then the sales guy probably didn't realise what the OP was talking about until he started complaining after the car arrived. The fact that even the contract doesn't specify the dealer accessory red embroided mats and only specificies "GTI mats" is evidence of this.

I'm sorry sharkablue, but you have received your GTI mats - the official GTI mats are those "plain black mats". The GTI is the only car those come in (they may come in the GTD now, I'm not sure. The R has very similar mats but with a grey border to match the grey stitching elsewhere in the car, the comfortline and trendline Golf's don't have factory mats).

sharkablue, there has been a misunderstanding between you and the sales person, this happens, but you signed the contract with that misunderstanding in black and white text. As others have mentioned, I suggest you document this and send a letter to the dealer principle and see what he can work out for you. But there is no benefit to this thread continuing, so I'm going to close it. (PM me if you have something to add, cheers).
