  • New to VW!!!

    Hi Guys,

My whole life I have been a BMW driver, E30 320i, E30 323i, E30 325i, E36 320i, E36 328i. Last year I wanted a more track focused car so I bought a 97 Nissan 180sx for the track and had been getting around in a BMW 320i during the week..

Time came to buy a new car, I wanted something new and affordable and not being able to afford a new BMW I just bought a new 2010 Golf 118TSI Comfortline, 6 speed manual with sports pack. The truth is, I have never seen one up close, let alone drive one... yet I was brave (or stupid) enough to buy one which I pickup next weekend. I was hoping you guys could tell me a bit about these cars, Golf's have always been good and I have always had a soft spot for them so I figure I have made the right decision.

I'd be keen to hear about servicing costs, I have gotten away pretty lightly with BMW's and never faced any huge bills... will this be the same with the VW?

Anything I should know about these cars? Keen to hear from owners!

    Thanks,

    Jonathon

Welcome, and don't forget to post some pics when you get it.

Servicing should be less than what you were used to with the BMWs.

            Welcome!

Loving the 180sx - nicely tough yet restrained. Always been an SR20 fan too.
