    Yes! Do it!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnet - not sure of. Many many years ago, Matt had a white Skyline with a black bonnet and it looked a bit average, black bonnets on white cars remind me of that (but that is only my opinion!). Any pics of a white Golf with a black bonnet?

Or We could try the Holden or Ford fiesta kind of thing and do the very cool black strips down the whole body... Not.

lol.. but come on... the black roof is coming back. Even Volkswagen think so! Do I need to remind anyone about the GTI Excessive?

Having the White R with the Black wheels and the Black roof (tailored seamlessly around the sunroof) would be awesome! It'll tie nicely in with the black mirrors, black grill, black brake calipers and black rear diffuser!

          I'm not being sarcastic!

I purchased the Goodyear Eagle F1's in 235/35R19 in 2 shippments and paid no customs duties.....just ordered them a few weeks apart as I was in no rush...saved about $1000 on what i was qouted in Perth!!

            Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225/40R18 = US$173 each. x4 + US$250 shipping = US$942 (~AU$1,080 today)
            Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 235/35R19 = US$223 each. x4 + US$250 shipping = US$1142 (~AU$1,300 today)

(Those exclude any customs charges - you can investigate that stuff yourself... but I'd say you're much more likely to run into customs queries with the 19" as even the tyres without shipping are over the AU$1000 threshold).

Are the Talladega wheels available in Australia as upgrades? If so, how much are they are where can you get them at?

i'd speculate that they'd be pretty damn expensive if you get them from the dealership- as in probably at least $2k a set.

there'll be plenty of peeps getting mk6 golf .:R's, and who will be changing the wheels.

just wait a couple of months and you're BOUND to see people start to advertise them in the for sale section of the forums.

Oh great. Thanks for the information. Can you let us know exactly how much the shipping costs were doing it this way?

I'd say that $2k is probably too optimistic!

                    18" Vision Black & Silver = $3028.76
                    18" Vision Silver only = $2649.24
                    18" Karthoum (MKV GTI option) = $2113.04
                    18" Topas Silver Kit = $2882.00
18" Motorsport in Black or Anthracite = $3730.76

All of those are without tyres.

I love that GTI. SO is that roof, (or the other roof's I have seen around for that matter) just a vinyl piece or are they painted?

And is the idea so you can remove the Vinyl?

Anyway I reckon that roof makes the car look great.

I would say that the roof in that picture is painted. But a shiney vinyl is a non-permanent option in case you are not completely convinced that it's the way to go!
But I agree - it's the roof that ties that car together. I think that it would also be the same case for these White R's with the Black Talladega wheels

From this thread, i got inspiration and am having my roof vinyl wrapped next Friday...

I asked the same question - they said they'll either take it off for me, or I can do it myself if i get sick of it and it will not damage my paint whatsoever.

A lot easier than painting it

I personally am going with the Black 19's when i palce my order next week. I think they will suit the ar really well considering all the other gloss black parts (front grills, side mirrors, roof fin, etc)

Car will be white aswell, so they kind of go hand in hand. On top of that my plates are black and white too. So ill keep it in the family

Sounds like there will be a fair few panda bears getting around

Black looks good on white but wouldn't get it on blue personally.

I tend to agree mate. Although i think the black wheels do look good on against the rising blue, I believe the silver will suit it better!
