The dealer I'm going through want $295 for front and rear flaps including fitting (basically the same as noted by WhiteJames).

Don't think I'll bother getting them. I don't think they're particularly bad in terms of looks, and in some ways I think a car can look unfinished without them, but for $300 I can think of plenty of better ways to spend money.

Mud Flaps: Love them or Hate them.

Posted pics of mudflaps on several Golfs in this link as I cannot post pics or attachments on this forum:

EDIT: TM Tuning USA have mudflaps for $60 pair front and $60 pair rear - but only for the MKV Golf atm. No OEM mudflaps for the MK6 yet. See link:

        Cheers.

In respect to the photos in the MUDFLAPS link I posted earlier.

See the last 5 photos ... The white MK6 GTD on BBS CH wheels clearly shows the black road grime on the bottom side sills behind the front and rear tyres. The white coloured bottom sill really shows this road grime, which got me thinking about mudflaps on a White GTI.

Okay if you drive a Black or Carbon Grey GTI as the bitumen marks should not show up as easily.

In contrast, the last two pics depict an earlier model White MKV GTI with black plastic under sills and black coloured bottom half of rear bumper, which does not show the road grime, hence no need for mudflaps. I’d prefer black under sills and black rear bumper for this reason.

Mudflaps fitted at an OEM accessory prior to delivery of vehicle should have warranty of 3 years instead of the STD 12 months if purchased after purchase of vehicle.

When I ran Audi RS6 rep wheels with a slightly wider offset of 45mm than the standard offset of 51mm for a short time on my MKV GTI, I found a lot of road grime striking the bottom side of the doors. The tyres protruded out that little bit more (6mm), with the fenders failing to catch some of the debris thrown up the tyres. An easy way to chip paint if going for wheels and/or tyres that offer a wider track.

          Cheers
