Bear in mind that Dr Ferdinand Porsche designed the first People's Car Type 1 in 1938, so the connection is there.

IMO I think it's actually spoiled the look of the Mk VI...

The Mk V on page 4 looks better...

good for them for trying to get rid of the ugliest part of the mk6, the front!!! stock mk6 looks like a squashed head, but with the front bumper, it looks half decent.

Ps i still wouldn't buy it, but it is an improvement.

I too share trueman's opinion, even though I owned a MKV GTI. But this discussion has been had to death in other threads - most of which are removed from the forum because they decended into pointless and abusive posts!

I find that a lot with new cars anyway.. I always think initially the old model looks better until the new one has grown on me - then I think the reverse is true...

The only exception to this for me was the 2nd generation Impreza..
