  • Rubber seals - noise

I'm sure you're all experiencing the same - this awful sound when driving over any bumps or uneven cornering. It sounds like squeaky rubber.....
    It's driving me MAD

Try searching before creating new threads as this has been answered only a few days ago and you'll save yourself time.

DuPont Krytox lubricant - door seals, hinges, latches, squeaks and rattles.

Maverick, did you create the My-GTI.com web site? Nice work if you did, it's very impressive.

Turn your radio up louder. You won't hear it then.

Don't be be so sure. I am not "experiencing the same". Mine is as quiet as a mouse. I drive over some pretty rough gravel roads. These pics I posted a while back show a stone I collected in a brake. Never heard the sound you speak of though.

Seems the rubber seal noise you speak of effects some, but not all.

I hate rattles and noises that shouldn't occur with quality euro cars. My mk5 has the same problem.

It's obviously a sign of cost cutting or bad design. Wouldn't happen on an audi ffs.

Bought some gummi fpledge stuff which didn't help either.

Problem is if you use any incompatible products on the rubbers it can create a much worse noise. I'd strip anything on the seals and see how it goes and if it's still a little noisy head down the Krytox path.

Cheers will have to look into it soon. The boot rubber seems a lot nicer and softer.
