lol... I'm not sure anyone here knows what the quack they're talking about!
Well, it's unlikely to be me!
Getting right back on topic, after filling up again last Saturday and driving to work and home Monday, and to work this morning, my range display tells me 1080km. It cost me $56 for the first fill for two week's driving, and $47 on Saturday.
There is a downside to all this though, the infernal car insists on hooning along despite my valiant efforts to hold it back.

Yes, *ahem* back on topic...
This can only be a good thing - anyone notice the price of fuel creeping skyward again? (and this with a relatively high A$ too)... IMO ladies and gentlemen, fuel economy is gonna become very much more important over the coming months...
This is utterly amazing Anthony, I was sitting on the off-ramp having just pulled off the Kwinana Freeway waiting to turn right into Canning Highway and my Range was reading 1160km! I'd just travelled 41km from work. Can anyone beat that? Sadly I didn't have a camera with me at the time, so you'll have to take my word for that figure.
hoi polloi: I'm using BP diesel from BP Manning in WA. Seemingly Ultimate isn't available at this time, although I forgot to ask when it will be when I filled up.
I have had the Passat CC up to 1240 KM's Range To Zero. I will take a photo next time. I had a client tell me today that he would only need to fill up 5 or 6 times a year, LOL.
Looks good and just shows that they way range is calculated is a little fanciful. At this time last 20 km was pretty much downhill freeway at 110km/hr between Mittagong and Sydney.
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.
It has a 68 Litre tank capacity, including reserve!
I agree. That's what the brochure and the manual say (approx) but I managed to pay for 68.441 litres at my first refuel after purchase so maybe VW are giving us a little extra space at no extra cost.
Range was 0 for about 10 Kms.
The other alternative could be Bowser accuracy in question.

...or maybe it was a hot day when you filled up. As Frank suggested earlier in the thread, the laws of physics must have expanded your fuel tank to fit more
Seriously though I agree, bowser accuracy is the likely explanation. You must have been running on vapours when it said range 0 for the last 10kms. Do you carry a jerry can?

I'm guessing you would be one of the few people to complain that your VW instrumentation was accurate if you had spluttered to a stop as soon as the range went to 0 Km ?
The best I've seen with my TDI was DTE + distance travelled since last fill = 1,485 km
Admittedly the T5 has a larger fuel tank than a Golf or a Passatt, but in real life I've never managed more than 1,100km between fills (but I don't play DTE = 0 Km "roulette" either ).
