I think canine-based in-built scratch protection is a little expensive for my tastes. As effective as they may be in enforcing scuff-free driver ingress, they do require quite a lot of maintenance, not to mention the damage they may introduce to other areas. I am going to get some Mk 5 GTI scuff plates and fit them to the Mk 6 GTI when it arrives in early July. I love them on my Mk 5 and the car just looks unfinished without them! I am 99.9% sure that the the Mk 6 has exactly the same sills as the Mk 5 (being basically the same car). They have not said to that they won't fit. I would imagine that it would be an easy job to do it ourselves. Must be double sided tape or just glue I'd imagine, will look into it because if I can $100 in fitting that can go towards my first 2 days in fuel usage when I pick up the machine in July!

does anyone know if the 5dr scuff plates will work fine on the 3dr? will it be too short? i can't seem to find 3dr ones...
