Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Replacement seats for a Mk VI GTI?

    Hey all,

    I was wondering if there are any alternative aftermarket (or VW) seats around. I am after something wider/flatter to better accommodate a, um, 'fuller' figure.

    Also, ideally using a mesh (like on a Herman Miller Aeron chair) so that they breath easier.

    I'll tell you what. I'll swap the wide/flat seats from my Trendline for your cramped/uncomfortable GTI seats. Get back to me and I'll come around and do the swap.

      Thanks for your kind offer... but I want to hold on to my old seat(s) for when it's time to sell.

        I reckon the best seat for the...ummm fuller figure is probably the Passat seat. It lacks the side bolsters found in the cushion of the golf seats. By just looking I reckon they'd be a direct swap, and even the air bag plug seems the same but I certainly haven't checked this out. Anyone know?
