Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rear seat removal

I have to remove the rear seat cushion to fit a cover (Mk6 4 door).

Has anyone already removed the seat?

I can see that there are a few security Torx screws holding down the restaint hooks.

Does anyone know if these are also the bolt downs for the rear rear cushion?

    Thanks

I asked this same question last year...grab hold off the front bottom edge of seat and firmly pull up.

There is something in the manual about removing the rear seat cushion
But I think its for US version to lay the rear seat flat for carrying flat objects.
        Well on mk5 anyway.

Thanks for that. I've checked the Mk6 manual and can't find any reference to rear seat removal. Maybe a difference btw 5 and 6.
