That is for the USA mind you...
Wow..some good and bad there for the US folk...

18" Detroits as standard - Good.

A downgrade from an RCD510 as standard to RCD310, RNS510 (as an option) replaced with RNS315, Base GTI doesn't include a multifunction wheel - Bad!

Looks like they're pushing people in the states to at least get the GTI with an upgrade pack of some sort. Makes sense from a business perspective.

I freekn knew they would chuck in bluethooth as standard. One thing that i am pissed about with the GTI, pay that much money and no bluetooth as standard!!

Now i buy it and the next one has it, lol.
I know it is US but i am sure it will be the same here.

I doubt this has any relevance to us yet... and I truly hope it isn't totally relevant. If any of you guys looked there are NO OPTIONS !!!!!
Basically, there are 4 models, and that's it. That'd suck as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed (given I'm ordering every option I want and none I don't on my GTI)! It would, however, be interesting to see the price variation between the packages, and how that compares to the 2010 option prices when totalled to equal what the packages include. The Japanese have gone with a model like this for years... as far as I'm aware it makes for cheaper extras overall (even considering you sometimes pay for extras you don't want), and definitely streamlines ordering (making for much faster delivery times).

Grouping extras into packages is probably less tempting for VW Australia, as it's still seen as something of a niche brand here; long delivery times are par for the course (ie somewhat to be expected), and you can bet they make a fortune on extras.

Interesting that LEDs aren't standard on 2011 models in the US... I know some had speculated that'd be an MY11 upgrade.

MY11 builds don't start being built until sometime in July/August (can't remember the exact week). They won't arrive for at least 2-3 months after that date.

Bluetooth was standard on the old models in the US. Bluetooth is an option here, most people don't want bluetooth so why should they pay for it?

No it won't be, completely different markets, completely different pricing and completely different customers.

If they did, we'd already know - so why ask?!

                      Exactly.
Plus the push button start is just another thing that can break.

The flip key is like that swiss army knife you got as a kid, you could even stab people with it, bet the push button can't do that? (just a joke, don't take it sereiosly)

FWIW, I test drove the Golf R in Singapore two Saturdays ago and it didn't have push button start. BTW the R costs $180K SGD ($140K AUD) over there.

Coreying, seriously mate, its a forum, we are alloud to ask questions without MOD's coming down on us questioning everything we post.

The reasons I asked is that this information for the US versions Golf's just got released. It would be safe to bet that other countries are getting this information as we speak to, thus the reason why I asked.

Not everything VWA do is posted on this very forum, so there is no harm in asking.

VWA is complete different to VGA and they package their cars differently, have a different market and are a different company.

I assume you mean VGA (Volkswagen Group Australia) and not VWA (Volkswagen of America)?

Rest assured that as soon as something is released about the spec of the new models it will be posted here within minutes.
