She took Monday and Tuesday off, and only saw the news today by email. I am sure it was misunderstanding. Now just waiting for 2 more weeks!

I'm so disappointed. I ordered my Golf 2 weeks ago, only arrived at the dealer on the 1/2/10, it wasn't ready for me untill 3/2/10, haven't picked it up yet. The sales manager said he reckons there is no chance of the $1000 off as it's from the date of invoice, but he's having a look into it.

So when I go in there to pay for my car, they will be selling cars along side mine $1000 cheaper It just isn't fair.

What is the date of the invoice?
When you ordered the car two weeks ago? Or when it arrived at the dealer on the 1st of Feb?

I believe the invoice date is when they got the car off VW Aus (I think that's how it works). Anyway, he seemed to say they do the invoice and then get the freight company to deliver it. But as I say, they're having a look at the documents to check (I called first thing this morning, no response yet). It doesn't sound good.

Hmm, yeah, that sounds unfortunate. Maybe VWA will be able to help you out since your car did not even arrive at the dealer until Feb 1st ?!

Yeah, I just sent VWA an email pointing out this anomaly. Here's hoping they come to the party, I'm pretty sure there will be cars from the same shipment as mine that will have the discount applied simply because no one has bought them yet!

Perhaps if they dealer can't pass on the cash discount, they may give some free accessories to maintain the relationship.

Is there a copy of this press release on the net somewhere? I can't find anything on VW Australia's website.

Surely there must be something that states you should receive the discount, or rebate even if you took delivery of the car within 30 days of the announcement.

I was down looking through my local VW dealers car yard and I noticed the price on a new MK6 Golf 118TSI comfortline manual was $32917 drive away which is a saving of $1043 from what they where last week. The metallic paint was $519. So its good to see it has come through.

It seems strange to me there is no official statement released to the general public. Especially one detailing the reduction for current orders.

Yet to hear back from my dealer, hopefully they've made the choice to pass it on...
