    • Called up a VW OEM parts place that is close to where I live, Sutherland Shire (VW McGrath IIRC) they sell the lights for $588

      • I can highly recommend VW McGrath, Sutherland. They installed and coded my lights for me. I had purchased the lights from Ozram's contact but they happily put them on for me one Saturday morning. Took about an hour all up. Having said that, a lot of forum folk can and do install and code their own.

Do these require the LED harness adapters, or will they plug directly into the GTI harness?

You should double check. It's rare that vw aust would reduce their rrp by 50% of their original price of $1k for the LED taillights.

Yes I was also shocked to find out that they are cheaper than ECS etc but the phone number is 02 9545 4811 if you're keen on getting some and also checkout the receipt with the GTI I bought about a week ago

Maybe they meant the older non-LED taillights?

                      • This is a cheap option (US$375) - vacar

Although not OEM they are meant to be manufactured in parallel to OEM. A lot of people in the US use these with no issues.

                              • Heaps of people in the US seem to run them. From photo's they look identical to OEM to me.
