How much discount should i ask for?

That's incl Corp Disc, forgot to mention that too.. lol... So that helped me out a fair bit given the lack of options..

some dealers throw in a 3 yr extenteded 'warranty' but basically it has a whole lot of conditions such as $1000 limit on each claim and a specific number of claims per yr etc. The VW factory warranty is an exact extention of the existing factory warranty for an additional 3 yrs covering everything with no limit on cost or number of claims etc. It costs about $2200.

Plus a dealer warranty means you can only service your car at that dealer. The VW factory warranty means u can get your car serviced at ANY VW service location.

went to dealer today.
from $52k they only willing to get down to $48k.
i was hoping a $7k discount...quite disappointed, he just asked me to go other dealers if they can do better.

I dont know where this wonderful $7k figure came from but its stupid and not relevant. You need to look at an 8-12% discount depending on the full RRP.

If your buying a $52k build, why would you expect $7k off? I did quite well and got $6500 off a $63k build (paying $57k) - this seems to be about the norm.

Nothing wrong with fighting for the right price - but at least be realistic.

come on, 14% off is not possible, my friend working in Toyota, the staff price is 13% off (which i just did, lol) and even if the head office ppl to buy, they can get 15% off and dealer can claim back some money for it.

It's always best to talk % in these cases... With mine, I got a 10%. I did not have a long list of option to negotiate with, just the Detroits...

Agree. It really depends how many options you ordered. More options, more discount.
