Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • How does the CD player work if SAT NAV ON?

    Just a question ppl?

Does the CD Player or Radio work if Sat Nav ON ?

  • #2
yes. the radio or cd player or media device will play whilst the satnav is displaying maps etc.
if you get it to direct you somewhere then it will interrupt the radio or cd etc only when it gives you a direction or message from the satnav.

Speaking of which, anybody know how to turn the young lady's voice up? The stereo volume is reduced whenever she says something, but if the air conditioner is up high or if there's any other cabin noise (ie, passengers), I can't hear a bloody thing.

not sure if they are all the same but if i touch mine in the lower left corner of the screen it will bring up a volume display.

Go to the Settings menu, and then into Navigation settings. it should be in there.

Read, yes. Memorised, no. I haven't had the car since yesterday and it only occurred to me to check how to do it last night. I only ever think about the volume when I'm actively driving and it's a little dangerous to read the manual while steering.

Yeah - I have a memory like that too! It's triggered by events, and in the situation you talk about, I'd be driving when I thought of looking at the manual too!

Just hit the volume buttons on the wheel while she's saying it .
