RCD510 Up For Grabs

I have just purchased a new GTI DSG in Red and got the dealer fitted Sat Nav - totally love the car!! but now have a RCD510 to get rid of. If anyone is keen to make an offer please just pm me.

Does that mean you can get the RNS510 (or RCD510) retro fitted at a dealer, as in order it in ?

I wonder if you can get them to retrofit the DynaAudio system.

Yes, the dealer can order and fit the RNS510. But think another several hundred dollars on top of the factory cost.

Dynaudio I guess is possible also, but you might be better off with an aftermarket system because I shudder to think of dealer fit costs. However, I'm not entirely sure.

Yes, it's shaft time !!! Do you know if i fit the RCS510 you have in place of the 310 how it would affect the MDI i'm getting dealer fitted, and how is warranty affected by purchasing yours ?

My 118TSI came with MDI and I upgraded the RCD310 to a RCD510 I bought on eBay. No problem at all and everything works fine. It is a great upgrade in terms of looks and usability, particularly for iPod navigation.

I don't know, if there was a problem with it are they going to check if the car came with it given it's OEM?

I'm thinking of doing the same... how did you go about installation though ?
Can you provide links or photos to help prepare me for the installation ?
I wan't to make sure it will work before I buy the RCD-510 or RNS-510 on eBay.

I actually got a professional to do the job as I had two amps and a sub-woofer done at the same time. I understand the actual head-unit is a simple swap (fascia pops off, four screws and away you go). I'm sure there are threads on here about it.
