Since I bought my 118tsi, very very few times I have either taken off from a rolling start or re-accelerated somewhere between 1000 and 2000rpm I get this Obvious Clicking sound accompanied by what feels like the car hesitating big time. Normally only 3 to 5 clicks sounding similar to a Magna with stuffed CV joints going around a corner.
My Dad who is a mechanic told me it was probably a faulty coil pack and was misfiring (pinging sound) until it finally did it with him in the car and he said it was definitely the supercharger clutch malfunctioning.
You Cannot here it with the radio on and is only really more obvious with the windows down. Funny thing is though, I've had this car for 6000 k's now and still don't have that annoying sound that others have when the supercharger engages.
Has anyone else come across the clicking sound?
