Fitting depends on how good you are — without access to a full Mk 6 circuit diagram and the various canbus codes (and something to read/set/modify them with) plus the know-how to do the job, you'd be kicking the proverbial deposit uphill.
Speaking personally (and I can do wiring etc. and am comfortable working on the innards of computer systems) I'd avoid it like the plague.
Having said that, you might find a qualified installer prepared to take the risk.

They have a model for the Mk6 as well. Goes for around 620 i'm pretty sure.
I'm getting one and my mate who is an experienced mechanic is going to install it for me.
They gave me a guarantee that it will be very easy to install and works with all the canbus systems and so on. GPS maps for aus come free and i'm pretty sure it's free postage aswell.
I think it's worth it...but hey, if you want, wait a week or two and i'll post back tlling you how it all goes."I just want to make it that little bit better, and little bit more unique."

O.K.
So i got this thing sent to me a few days ago and spent my saturday installing it and trying to use it.
I found that it was pretty easy to install but wasn't what i expected at all.
It's very complicated to use on a daily trip and doesnt tend to work properly.
I managed to score myself a total refund less the postage back to them
From now on...no more cheap chinese solutions....it's genuine or nothing.
It's too much hassle imo."I just want to make it that little bit better, and little bit more unique."

I've been keeping an eye on a few of these and there seems to be a huge variance in the graphic interface of each of them. Some of the screen shots look like they're from an old DOS computer whilst others look quite respectable.Last edited by backdoc; 31-01-2010, 10:36 PM.MY10 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon TSI Candy White DSG Leather Sunroof MDI Bluetooth Tow Tint

No worries.
I bought it from a company called a-sure. They have very good service and I am pretty sure an eBay powerseller. The product had some pretty fancy screens but it was evident that it just wasn't right. Sometimes it wouldn't pickup radio signals an sometimes the gps would come up with an error tab looking like it came off a windows 98 platform. Tge company insist I'm the only one with this problem and they could fix it for me if I send them a video of it while I'm trying to operate it. I decided it wasn't worth the headaches and did a quick swap back to the original part and am going to mail it back for my refund. It's a shame it didn't work as I like having the whole gps DVD tv unit, but this just plain didn't.
So IMO do not bother looking for one on eBay as you may not get the refund I was lucky enough to get."I just want to make it that little bit better, and little bit more unique."

The simple fact is, the RNS-510 is AWESOME value compared to anything else on the market from ANY other manfacturer. I mean, check out the competitors - BMW, Audi, Merc, etc etc. They're all far more expensive and don't necessarily have more features.
Even check out companies like Pioneer. They have the AVIC-F900BT for $2k and AVIC-F10BT for $3k. Sure you could get them cheaper from Pioneer dealers, but by the time you have them installed, they're still going to be as expensive as the RNS-510.
So what it comes down to is:
If no other car manufacturer has a integrated entertainment/nav solution as 'low cost' as the RNS-510, and even 3rd party brand names like Pioneer don't have solutions as 'low cost' as the RNS-510, then WHY would something costing only $569 be as good as the RNS-510?
