GTI alarm standard?

I'm still waiting for my car to arrive in couple months.. just wondering if GTI comes with alarm as standard equipement?

As per the golf_6_gti_brochure.pdf available from the VW Australia website:

Anti-theft:
Electronic engine immobiliser
Alarm system with interior monitoring and tilt sensor

that sounds fantastic.. So long as things like the tilt sensor, etc are not too sensitive.

I didn't realise mine had auto wipers, still they started working on their own. Bonus! Didn't know I might have an alarm, maybe I should read the book?

Alarms pretty good, and the internal sensors can be turned off and on with the remote, as outlined in the..... manual ooo strange thing that

One thing I want to know is that in the Manual is says there is a bottle opener in the centre console between the shifter and MDI compartment, the inset is there but I havent got a bottle opener, hmm maybe I should hassle the dealer, anything for nothing I say....

Did your dealer attempt to sell you a 3rd party Alarm system?

My one did and I thought it was ridiculous that they were attempting to make an extra buck from those that don't know about the stock alarm.

No they didn't.. I just thought if the car doesn't come with alarm I probably need to find an aftermarket one

yes, I was happy to find out that the GTI had an alarm system, which included anti-towing and internal sensors. the sensors (3 off) are located in the overhead console behind the too small sunglass holder. There is a switch on the drivers side b-pillar to over-ride the anti-tow & internal sensors temporarily,.

As for the bottle opener it acts as the divider for the front bottle holders or you can remove it and store it at the bottom of the bottle holders.

The bottle opener replaced cigarette lighter since Mk5. As I've seen MK6s cars, they all come with bottle opener. If you don't, your dealer might forget to give it to you.

I got a bottle opener. They went to great lengths to show it to me and to explain the cooler in the glove box. I would have preferred a cork screw for my red wine, don't drink beer. But still, twas a nice touch.
