  • Tuning my Mk GTI

    Hey guys,
I recently got a Mk6 GTI and i'm thinking of doing her up a bit. I was thinking of starting with a performance chip and maybe blow off valves, intercoolers and all tht jazz.
I'm having trouble finding places to get parts from because the car is so new.
If anyone knows somehwere i can get parts for a Mk6 GTI please let me know.
    Cheers
    Amir

lol... 'doing her up'... havent heard that in a while

You can easily have the ECU re tuned by any number of providers. In Sydney, I would go with Derek @ European Autotech in Mona Vale.

He sells APR who also have upgraded exhaust and inter cooler products.

As for a blow off valve .. come on .. you're joking right?

Mods that most of the vag community think you should do:

        ECU software tune (chip)
        suspension
        Wheels
        Engine mounts and polyurethane bushes
        Bigger brakes
        Swaybars and strut braces
        Diverter valve
        exhaust, downpipe and air intake.

        Mods you shouldn't do:
        non oem bodykit
        crazy paint scheme
        bling rims
        blowoff valve
anything you would do to a honda civic.

hahaha thanks guys...it was actually a mate of mine who suggested the blow off valves and intercoolers and all that.
I'm not real big on "doing cars up" so i kinda just listened and went along with it. Thats why i asked you guys who know your stuff.
The ECU is what i'm wanting to start with and i've finally figured out where i can get it done in melbourne.
And don't worry, i wont do anything that you would do to a honda civic to it.
Thanks for tht list btw, it's very helpful.

Oh btw, i don't want to "rice it ". I want it to go better, not just sound like some japped up car that goes no where in hind sight. It already goes quite well., but me being me, i just want to mke it a little bit better and that bit more by making it my own.
