If you read any insurance policy it has clauses and wording to narrow the definitions. Even the factory warranty from new has them. I don't subscribe the to the extended dealer warranty but have bought the VW extended factory warranty underwritten by Allianz. The only reason they won't pay out is if you have breached their requirement and if you keep taking it to the same dealer then they will look after you anyway.
The reverse is true, don't take it out and you are on your own at least if you have got it then you have a good foundation for getting stuff fixed..Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

I'm thinking of going with the Allianz extended new car warranty. It's pretty much the same PDS as the VW branded one and it's for 3 years for about 2900 dollars. The only difference as far as I can see is that they will replace parts with 'similar parts' rather than specifically OEM

Was looking into this before buying a 2nd GTD, found website that provides 3 options from $1700 to $3000. All required regular servicing by qualified mechanic only following log book but didn't have to be VW. Different T & C's for the 3 different under writers.

Skoda Octavia 90 TSI MY13 extended warranty options
Hi there,
Got bundled with a 2 year Skoda Extended New Car Warranty Insurance (underwritten by Allianz) for $1900, when I bought my low km 2012 MY13 Skoda Octavia 90 TSi DSG liftback a few weeks ago. It will only kick in in 2 years time when the factory warranty expires. Just wondering if it is worthwhile going ahead with this (can still cancel in cool off period) or to rather buy it (or not!) just before the factory warranty expires. May decide to keep the car past factory warranty or upgrade at that stage. Just not sure if premiums will be similar (or much higher) in 2 years time, but the crystal ball is a bit cloudy on that question! Also not aware of premium variation between dealerships, but these can vary too apparently.
Also not even sure if the extended warranty will be worth the cost (it is insurance in the end, not a maintenance plan...), as surely reliability issues (engine and especially DSG) should have been sorted out by now? Or is that wishful thinking? Keen to hear your thoughts on this!
Thanks.

It's a judgement call.
It's not an extended warranty, but an insurance policy, so you need to check out the exclusions.
No insurer is going to give you a cheap policy on a vehicle that is going to require on-going repairs. They would go broke.
Just check for exclusions on the bits you think are going to require repairs, and remember, there are statutory warranties that no manufacturer can exclude.

Hi,
My factory warranty ran out this month. I spoke to the VW dealer up in Liverpool, NSW as I used to get my car serviced through them and also got the major service done like 6 months ago. They offered me extended 3 year warranty for $3000(post negotiation) but I had to get my car serviced through them for next 3 years. I had no issues as per my company policy I have to maintain the logbook from an authorised VW dealer.
I didn't opt for it as I had to move interstate but I have heard this from a lot of guys that most of them are offering it at a cheaper price. I just have to find someone in VIC now who could match that deal.

3 year - Discounted price $2,330

Does anyone have any experience with Swann extended warranty? Also, what’s the difference between Swanns “Warrantyassist” and “5 Star Drivesure”?
