antanna on roof?

my golf made in may 09 doesnt have the antanna on the roof. (its the really small on that doesnt move or flick)
Now when i drive past some other golf 6, i see a small antanna. not all but some.
whats the deal there?

by antennae did you mean the mini shark fin looking antennae? if it is, i believe its the GPS antennae for if you bought the RNS-510 option ordered from the factory.

It is the GPS antenna that comes with factory fitted RNS510 on MK6 models

I doubt it — my Mk 6 TDI has RNS510, which I assume to have been factory fitted (no-one suggested it wasn't), and it has no external antenna. Maybe it's for better phone reception?
