Didn't someone say a NSW dealer advertised a GTI with DSG for the manual price just last week ($40500ish onroad).
I know the dealer that advertised it might not have honoured it, but everyone else in NSW was keen to match it.
Maybe get a copy of that ad and try your luck.

Biggest thing is to get one that is in the country or getting off a boat this week, else you will miss the free on roads deal as the car needs to be delivered before the end of June.

That's it, have money ready. If ur a motivated buyer looking to buy that day, with no issues with finance then a dealer might agree.
My brother bought a brand new hilux sr5 3.0d pretty much loaded for $58k, every other dealer wanted in excess of $67k, he told the dealer $55k today and they agreed on $58k. Took about 2hours to phone around.

I have a photo of the Ad... just not too sure how to post it on here! It was Barloworld in Mascot... I rang them and they confirmed they would sell a 5dr DSG for $40,490 D/A.

Thats the thing now. My car just landed in Brisbane, and I am not expecting it till mid June.
You will struggle to get a price like that unless you can find one in stock, or on a boat docking in the next week.

I am of the understanding from my dealer that white is a very hard colour to source (most popular one around). To get a price like that, I would think it is a 2010 build car - which I know there are still a few around in silver especially. Not surprising as no one wants it in that colour anyway!

I was lucky to get my 2011 build white via a dealer swap - it also included the cool bluetooth system!

I think I'd take anything available at this moment in time! If Highway Auto @ Springwood can't find me something then I think I'll have to take your advice Finance_Analyst and try the Gold Coast dealer.

I did find the Highway Auto ppl to be complete pricks - some rubbish about not no test drives in the GTI demo as it was grounded due to high kms or some BS like that. They lost a sale as a result. Australs are not much better, although they do let you test drive their car.

Australs are not much better, although they do let you test drive their car.

Except for the Chinse/Singaporean salesman there. He was arrogant, over confident, bull****ty (?) and blunt. He couldn't show me his sales records quick enough and after the test drive he wanted an answer. I walked.
