I actually agree. I couldn't believe the Passat CC has white lighting and to make it worse, neither does the Golf.

                I'm glad I bought the Mk V.

I think that if someone cancels the order on the car just because of its backlighting, then he treats a car like a fashion item. And that makes me sick.

I kinda like the white dials, looked more exclusive and upper-class imp. alot of audi's influence i guess

Excellent. I'll be able to say "My Caddy has better looking instruments than your whizz bang GTI! "

                      That really sucks, though.

                        Old eyes?

I loved the look of the blue dials on my Mk V, but was told by a salesman that blue was causing trouble for older people. I am not an optometrist and would love to know if there is any truth in that claim. I must say that I find the white dials of the Golf VI easier to see on a long night drive, but yeh, nowhere near as classy looking.

There is truth to that statement. Have a look at - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purkinje_effect - explains why red light, for example, is better than blue light under dark conditions. White light, of course, contains "all" colours and is therefore better suited to providing best visibility under a wider variety of lighting conditions.

I must admit the first time I heard that they were ditching the blue lights I was disappointed.
But then I saw the white dash in the standard MK6 and was suitably impressed with the clarity of it. I do really like the blue, and I would say for certain there will be a mod for it, but yeah.

In fact, I'd say there will probably be a RGB led mod which will then allow you any custom colour under the sun!
