    GTI & GTD
From looking at the kataloge und preislisten fur der neue Golf GTI and GTD, one finds:

    In Germany:

    - GTI prices are up 3.8% on average over the outgoing GTI; und

    - The GTD appears to be a GTI with the 125TDI (CRD) engine in place of the 155kw TFSI (and costs €825 more than the GTI).

Amongst the options for both GTs, an 8-way power driver's seat for €275 ($500).

With relatively few differences between the Mk VI and Mk V GTIs, and a price increase on the cards, Mark V resale values should be relatively unscathed by the Mk VI GTI's arrival (with some preferring the more distinctive look Mk V GTs enjoy over the cooking versions).

    Virtual GTI
Also, for those who cannot wait to drive the new GTI, Drive reports today that there is a virtual slot car track with 1:43 scale Mk VI GTI at www.gtiproject.com.

With that sort of pricing structure, you can't figure the GTD would be that popular. Still, a common rail version of the 125kw would indeed be a lot smoother, have less apparent lag, and have a lot more engine tuning options over PD purely on injection alone. The even greater antipollution gear over the MK V GT is a added worry though, yet more things to clog up and or play up!
