Why haven't they improved on acceleration times? The new wrx dropped it to 5.2s, vw could easily do similar for the gti.

quicker car in the UK means more insruace costs as it falls in a different bracket.

We know the time is quicker that what they post, but they say it to keep other costs down, and in turn sell more cars to the money 'tight' mums and dads.

that's what the GTI R is for... VW can't have two cars in the same market segment. destroys the brand of GTI, and R spec car.

subi knew it wouldn't sell any rexs' on release due to its dog ugly looks...so they made it quicker to hopefully make some sales...and it still didn't work!
