    1.6TDi for Golf?

I read in the NRMA mag that VW are introducing a 1.6 turbo diesel later this year with a sub $30K list price. Does anyone know the details?

Sorry if this has already been discussed.

    Thanks

The problem is that private sales of diesels have slumped more than petrol cars since the price of fuel dropped. Its probably just not cost effective to import a diesel model that would cost the same as a 2l petrol GTI.

Correct anything under is reserved for the Polo range

1.6 TDI will effectively replace where the 1.9 TDI use to be.

        1.6 TDI Specs are
        77kW with 250Nm of Torque.
        CO2 Emissions 119 g/km.
        4.5L per 100km (Combined Cycle).

Any guess on where this car will be situated in the price range? Above or below the 90 1.4TSI ? In the UK its more expensive than the 90 TSI. Also realised (maybe I'm the last to notice it!) but DSG gives better mpg in petrol and worse in Diesel.

A little bit extra over 90TSI I'm expecting.
