Mk6 Golf - safest car tested under new Euro NCAP guidelines

Last year the Mk6 was awarded a 5 star safety rating by Euro NCAP.

However, in February this year the assessment program was revised, with new tests added to include, among others, electronic aids such as ESP, which weren't previously measured.

The Golf has again been given a 5 star rating and, to date, is the highest scoring car under the new testing regime.

It's about time that the Euro NCAP has revised its guidelines. When all cars are getting 5 stars, it really becomes meaningless. I do wonder whether they've taken it far enough though. I mean, if some new cars are already achieving the maximum rating, is there anything to strive for?
