Hi all, I recently purchased a 2009 Golf 1.4 TSI trendline and unfortunately the gearbox has given up the ghost already.
The gearbox code is LHY which is proving to be very difficult to source. I managed to find one with 197k on it for $1200 which seems a lot. My guess is they know there's only a few around.
Anyway my question is, does anyone know if I can swap the gearbox for a newer model such as the MCB? They're a lot cheaper and easier to find. I've called a few places and they said the KRG can be used but they're nowhere to be found either.
