Both wing mirrors adjusting at same time

Interesting little quirk has popped up on my 2011 Golf R…when I adjust my right wing mirror, the left moves as well.

This doesn’t happen to the right when I adjust the left mirror.

Has anyone encountered this or is there a simple fix beyond replacing the control unit?

Wires in joint between drivers door and car body probably Not uncommon fault

Also go to your settings in MMI menu and see if synchronous is ticked in the mirrors and wipers screen
