Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK6 Golf 90tsi wagon question

Hi all, as per topic I have a Golf wagon/variant - I have recently installed an auto headlight kit which works well, but it has an ugly sensor which I am thinking I will hide. I notice in the centre of the windscreen demister vent there a removable panel I think for the sunlight sensor on the R32 models. Does anyone know can I easily pass a wire down this area and access it under the dash area? then I can modify this panel for the sunlight sensor. I don't think I can me the genuine VW one work with the headlight kit.
The panel has a part number 5K0 919 068, and as best as I can see there is room for wiring, but I cannot see where is comes out behind the dash area.

I found this online For Vw Golf 6 Climatronic Sun Sensor&cable/wire 5K0 907 539 A - but again, not sure I can access the wiring behind dash aread.

Any tips or trick would be awesome
