Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2012 MK6 GTI Cloth to Leather Seats help.

Posted this in the Newbie Corner (newbie mistake ahah) by mistake and I believe its better to post It on the mk6 forums instead.

    Hey guys,

Just after some help regarding swapping out the cloth seats in my 2012 mk6 GTI. I've purchased leather front and rear seats, door trims, arm rest lid and got a question regarding the functionality of the leather seats.

As yous probably already know the leather seats have a heating function in them while the cloth seats don't, id like to have this work while keeping it looking as factory as possible. I have bought the climate control panel with heated seat controls to go along with the swap and i am curious if I will need a wiring harness of some sorts also for the heated seats, airbags and automatic lumbar support to work without any issues or error codes popping up. Or will it be all plug and play.

    Cheers 🍻

    Ben
