Badge removal - advice

Guys,

On the back of my Jetta i have the badge 2.0TSI. The 2.0T part is in silver but 'SI' part is in red. I want to take the 'SI ' part off. So it just reads 2.0T.

I have never really removed badges before so i have no idea and dont want to damage the car, or the paintwork. As such

- Should i do it? if so how?
- Can the dealer do it, or some other professional you recommend eg. panel beater?

Whats your advice/thoughts?

do it yourself; use dental floss to slide underneath the badge and then pull it off, then clean the residue away. easy peasy

badges off, now the redisue part, any product in particular i use to get it off? Just rub lightly?

not sure what yo ushould and shouldnt use on the paint... just be careful

All good, just some good rubbing with a tea towel got all the residue stuff off

You can get this automotive cleaning solvent from most auto orientated paint shops that will remove glue residue etc without harming the paint.. I've got some at the workshop and it's really good but i can't remember the brand.. I use it to clean surfaces to apply stickers and such.

I'll find out and post it up for interest sake.
