Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • where do you guys service?

    hi all,
just a question about the service, have any of u guys take your ride service at volkspower? cause i am about to do the first service for my MK5GTi and i am wondering where should i do it other than volkswagen.

very bad experience with the volkswagen dealer as they said i will get a free service for first time when i bought my car..but ending up have to pay $380 when i make my service booking...

    any advices will be good~

    much appreciated!

My dealer quoted me $370 for the first service on my GT, Volkspower quoted $280-300

That's about all I know, I'm in the same position as you though, I don't know which to do the service with.

But I hear people say the dealers treat you nicer after the warranty period if you have a service history with them. So to me, $70 a year extra, might be worth it to stick with the dealer in the mean time.
