Long time Melbs lurker here, thought i'd say hello and thanks for being a great resource for helping me with my new purchase!

I placed my order today for a CW GTI DSG with Leather, Roof, SatNav and Rear Sensors. Estimated delivery is in 2 weeks! Lucky they had my requested spec in bond awaiting compliance!!!

Had a crisis of faith re: Stick vs DSG, so i test drove both again last week and went with the DSG in the end. Was a big deal for a long time stick guy.

Found out that i'm up for almost $400 for Euro plates, what a joke!!!

Anyway, thanks and looking forward to posting more!!

I had exactly the same issue. I went with the DSG as well and I'm very happy with it.

I have Euro plates, think they suit the VW better than other plates, IIRC they were nowhere near $400 here in NSW but maybe I'm wrong.

Who said Ned Kelly was dead, sounds like he is alive and well working for the Victorian Government!

Your Euro plates are cheap! They're something like $600 here in QLD!!!

They shouldn't be more than 100 per year. I'm assuming your making an attempt with certain number and letter combinations? If thats the case, thats the reason for the abnormally high price.

Either that, or euro plates in states other than NSW are daylight robbery!

QLD's different mate. It's a one-off payment. ppq.com.au - $595 to be exact. Combination in QLD Euro is Q _ _ _ _ Z, first two characters after Q are letters, next two are numbers. That's it, no other combinations available.
