Error code P0263. Injector?

Hi all. I'm not usually on this side of vww, as im a mk1 owner, but this one is on behalf of my nephew who owns a 2008 mk5 2.0 tdi golf. He has been experiencing some issues for a few months, since he purchaced the car. Issues include poor fuel consumption (700kms per tank) and occasionally itll throw an engine light and start to shake and run rough. Its very temperamental and we havent noticed a pattern. Has anyone experienced the engine code p0263 (cylinder 1 missbalance) and what was the solution? A few garages have tried diagnosing it and they cant pin point whether its loom, injector or ecm related. Cheerio fellas!!

Should be pretty easy to diagnose most of it with the cam cover off.

You can check the continuity of the harness fairly easily, as well as do a resistance test on the injector itself.

I'd be adjusting the injectors and calling VW to make sure the campaign was carried out.

We are planning on doing the lash adjustment tomorrow, alongside loom continuity and injector resistance. What campaugn was to be carried out? Was there a recall in regards to the injectors?

As far as my search results go, 200kohms seems the norm resistance for the injectors, does that seem right?

I can't find anything about the resistance but just comparing the faulty cyl to the other should be enough. Would expect a short fault if there was a problem relating to that.

Main thing would be adjustment and making sure the pivot is all good. The recall done replaced the injectors of a certain build along with the loom.
