  • Gti 2009

Hi there, I'm a new here. Just a few questions....

I'm interested in buying a GTI soon.

Are VW bringing out a new design for their 2009 GTI? If so, does anyone know the specs?...changes to engine? etc.

Are the Sirocco's going to be a new edition to VW? and when are they going to be released in Australia?

      Go to www.carspyshots.net

Plenty of info in there about the Mk6 Golf.

Great site for finding info on new models.

You won't see either the next gen Golf or the Sirocco in Aus in 2009

The only material change will be to the engine in the GTI (See thread on "new engine in golf GTI" on this forum).

No benefit that I can see in holding off. Buy now.

          ...Sigh...

Did you bother to spend a few minutes in google looking for this info?

Just buy a MKV GTI now. MKVI is due here next year. MKVI GTI will probably be a year or 2 after that. More than likely will be a 2.0 litre TSI (turbo/supercharged like the 1.4TSI).

If the "Scirocco" is coming here, it should show up late next year.

Thanks Baily for the site. Much appreciated. Lots of info.

.....and yes I have looked on Google many a times trying to find some facts as to what is happening for next years model before posting this thread.

I guess if no new models are coming out at the end of this year I will just be getting whatever the 2009 GTI brings.

Can you give us a link to the source of that info please ? I've only read about the new EA888 2.0 Turbo petrol motors (the ones with cam chains not cam belts) going into production cars . I know that VW have been changing the badging for all their TFSI motors to TSI, but that seems to be just a marketing ploy, not an actual mechanical change (ie except for the twincharged motor in the Golf GT 1.4 petrol all the rest of the "TSI"s are straight turbo petrol motors). I'm happy to be wrong, as a 2.0 twincharged petrol with the same specific output as the 1.4 would produce approx 180Kw, which would be fun

Gti, you should just wait until 2015 & get the Golf VII, that way you won't have to worry about looking outdated

But even if I did go into the future to get it, I'm sure none of my servos will supply recycled sewerage methanol 98???

It would appear the mark VI is a bit away for Australia - and with the engine 'changes' being more along the lines of a re-tune, might as well go for the first car you can land.

So one would think I should put my order in soon & try and get a good deal so I don't have to wait too long past September.
