    3 Door looks waaaay better.

aside from that, apart from the 300 odd Mk4 R32's they brought to Aus (and about 8-10 2L Golfs Lennock Motors in Canberra sold a few years ago with no AC - bet none of you knew about them) there arent many 3 door Golfs in this country which sort of makes me feel as if my GTI is a little rarer than the "standard" 5 doors I see driving around Melbourne every single day.

I swear I could count at least 20 on any half hour drive around Melbourne.

Candy White makes it even better and in a few weeks Lennock will have my 18's in and I am yet to see a 3 Door with those yet which will make it even rarer (hurry up Pete)

There were 200 Mk4 R32s allocated to Australia. One died in transit, and one died in a pre delivery fire, so only 198 were ever offered for sale.

As for the other Mk4s. I have no idea what you're on about.

At the time I took those pics he chose not to speak to us all that much, haha. A bit the same as when we bought our old Mk4 GTI, which we ended up getting from Sydney. This pissed me off a bit as at the time I had bought 3 cars from Lennock, albeit Nissans, and well before they were selling Volkswagens.

But when we the Mk5 GTI was released we spent some time at Lennock and they were pretty good to us. We'd always preferred the 3dr so kind of held off on the off chance that they did come to Australia. As soon as we heard they were coming we signed up and Peter (and Michael who we bought through) were great. They secured a car for us about 2 weeks before they were officially announced. If it wasn't for getting the colour coding done prior to delivery we would have had the first 3dr GTI in Canberra and one of the first in Australia.

I drop in for a chat with the guys from time to time and they're still quite happy to talk and have a chat. Michael still says g'day to us whenever we walk past Cream in Civic as well. He wants to buy a Hummer H3 now.
