  • Can I sell my MKV GTI Superchips Bluefin tune second hand?

    Hi guys,

I've had a Superchips Bluefin stage 1 ECU tune for my GTI for the last couple of years and it has been a great modification. However, I'm now sadly having to part with the GTI (which has been and still is amazing) to hop into a Wolfsburg wagon, so I'd like to remove it and sell the car without the tune.

When I purchased the unit, I was told I could on sell it or apply it to my new car. I don't intend to apply it to the new car, but I am keen to on sell it.

I've heard mixed reports about whether this can be done. I was sure that I was told when I bought it that I could have it "unlinked" from my car, so it could be used on a different GTI. I recall it being for a reasonable cost too, around $150. However, I've been told otherwise through the official channels more recently. Am I going mad, or has there been a change in policy since I originally purchased?

What is the process and cost of "unlinking" the software from my car, so it can be sold second hand?

    Thanks
    Reece

it will cost around $500 to have it reset before it can be used in a different car (unless it is under 12 months old i believe). and some old handsets may not be compatible with newer cars and therefore it will cost extra to get new handset.

may as well get a new set in some cases (from a buyer point of view).
