Mine is an 07 build, i would have preferred an 08 if that option was there, but given that i sold my car on the 22nd jan and needed to pick up the golf as soon after that as possible i dont believe it physically possible to have an 08 car as early as then given build time, shipping time and then compliance and delivery to the dealer. i reckon any difference in price will be small as it is the same car, more likely to be in relation to condition/km anyway and im happy to possibly maybe lost a couple of hundred $ to have had the car when i needed it.

i guess i will see when it comes time to sell.

I took the GT 125 kw TDI sport for a test drive a few weeks ago, i was prepared to trade in my Dec 07 2.0 TDI in for it after reading all the rave reviews....

The interior of the one I drove had this plastic fitting in the center console/upper dash area and seemed much 'cheaper' --- at the end of the day i was happier with what I already had. And am going to invest the 1500 in a nice chip to bring it up to the same performance.

Anyone else notice this "cheap feel" to the interior?

          Compared to what?

It kicks my 73 Mazda I had at 17. I even rate it as good / better than my last BA GT and it was pretty groovy.

Having recently pulled that dash apart, I'd have to put it down as one of the best fitting pieces I've ever worked on, and there's been a lot.....

Sounds like you need to buy a Honda Civic euro if dash's get you off!

I agree, and mines gonna be absolutely flogged if and when I ever trade it, so build date will matter little!

The interior of the GT and Pacific is basically the same except the GT has paddles and the only real difference between those 2 and the comfortline you have is the dual climate control and seats so I don't really understand how it can seem cheaper.

The chip is a good idea but though the motors seem the same except for the tuning they are infact fairly different and you still won't have the suspension, wheels etc. of the GT.

Wont be the same performance as my chipped machine, youre starting with a different base.

Logzy, how much would chipping cost me?

All depends who you go with.
Basically i think it really comes down to personal preference.

All chips give similar results some a bit smoother, some a bit harsher but really there all created well and thoroughly tested and there's probably not much between them, other than price.!!

Im sure many will disagree with me and say one is better than the other but like i said, it comes down to pesonal preference and value for money.
