  • Mystery LEDs in new GTI

Just picked up my new GTI (30/5/0 - been doing the once over checking what goes in/out, on/off etc - but have come across what looks like LED lights above the centre pillar on the passenger side.

They don't turn on in anyway - manually or auto - and there's no reference in the manual.

Does anybody know what it is? It's about 10cm x 4cm with a what looks like white LEDs at each end?

    cheers

    Sean

Pretty sure that's the ultrasonics for the alarm.

You'd think they would put that in the manual

              Thank you very much

That's been on the insurance systems for about 4 weeks now, I assume that the y mean 2008 build MY08 and 2008 build MY09 from what I could figure out. They are asking for the year of manufacture when you insure so as the models change just after mid year it makes sense to do it this way.
