I've been doing that too but after a while gets a bit sore in the knee. it would be good to have something at a similar height to the left foot rest... Tried using the trim near the wheel arch but it isn't quite the same.
Most other cars have more space under the accel pedal but with the floor hinge there is no space.SPoddy

to the right of the accelerator pedeal there is a flat section of plastic trim. Seems to be a comfy spot for me

Maybe it's different in the other models, but in the R32 there's a foot rest on the right hand side of the accelerator, similar to the foot rest on the left hand side. At first I though, bloody Germans, they stuck in a foot rest on the wrong side but now I actually use it.
So I alternate from having my foot flat on the floor and having it on this footrest.

I have Pacific and on the test drive I kept pushing the foot rest and I thought what a pitiful change from LHD. I live in the country and use the CC all the time so I now have two foot rests for my two feet greatOriginally posted by Purgi View PostMaybe it's different in the other models, but in the R32 there's a foot rest on the right hand side of the accelerator, similar to the foot rest on the left hand side. Me too - damn convenient, really.Originally posted by Purgi View PostSo I alternate from having my foot flat on the floor and having it on this footrest.
In a perfect Golf, they'd both be at the same height & angle - but hey at least there's room down there! The Pugs I test drove had hardly enough room for ONE footrest. Good one VW.

I leave mine on the end of my leg, much easier to brake that way...Originally posted by Spoddy View PostJust wondering .... where does most people put their right foot when using cruise control
one a more serious note, I just rest it on the accelerator, then it's not in an unusual spot should trouble arise and braking be needed...

Tapping my foot in time to the music, or up on the passengers side of the dash board...I only use my cruise control if the posted speed limit is 130. Its the only time NT drivers no how to control a car!! Any other time, I never use my cruise.

That has probably saved me from many fines and stretching the tendons in my ankle. (my cruise control is on more than it's off)Originally posted by gareth_oau View Posti have cruise control, but never used it. its just a bunch of fancy buttons, while my foot stays in control
I considered an XR5 in my last car purchase and passed on it largely because it didn't have factory cruise.
