Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi All,

    Nice forum you have here. I am due to take delivery of my new Jetta any day now (been on order since Feb), so figured it was a good time to say hello.

    Look forward to discussing all things VW with you all

        Hi LTD and welcome. I echo your observation of the friendly nature of this forum. It sure made a nice change from the Ford one I came from - constant bickering among the camps. Nice to see the VW crew stick together.

        Enjoy your new machine, and I have a feeling you will be very happy with the new VW.

          which forum did you migrate from??? Seems like the ford and Holden forums are all like that was on a few but then just didn't like the 'atmosphere'

            Yes sadly there's a lot of chest beating, and a 'mines bigger than yours' sort of mentality on those Forums, especially in the sections dedicated to Australia's two favourite family sedans.

              Ford Forums Australia. Started out loving it, went to a dyno day early on, but quickly got over the turbo / V8 / older model camps there, and all the constant bickering every thread turned into. Have been very happy to see that remarkably absent here, and it actually put me off my Ford GT despite being a blue oval fan from an early age. No longer interested in being a part of all that!

                      Actually came across from a motorcycle forum (they were top blokes too).

                      Expecting a new edition to the family so the 1L sportsbike had to go and the Jetta was the compromise.

                      Very much looking forward to receiving it with the dealership hinting it may be this coming Friday.
