If it doesn't look like this in the RNS510 then it's not the real bluetooth,

    regards

    Murray

p.s. Dean at Volkspower (Vic) or Guy at Harding Performance (Qld) can help.

I got a refund for my "genuine" VWA bluetooth.

An update about the Premium Bluetooth kit's, is they will be available soon.

They are waiting on the pricing list from VW Aust. to be worked out from what I've been told.

Also, a big side note is about what phones are actually compatible with the Premium kit.

So make sure you have the right compatible phones!

PS - the the current supplied kit's are the standard Bluetooth kit's. No premium kit's have been released yet!

        Premium Bluetooth Kit Now Available

I was at Barloworld VW on Friday 17th April 09, and the dealer showed me the official release for the Premium VW Bluetooth. They had only received it that day. It uses SIM Access Profile and works with either the RNS510 or the RCD 510. Cost is horrific though, $1995 plus $225 for fitting. There is a long list of Nokia phones that have been tested, and a few Siemens ones as well but no others. They specifically say that Blackberry's don't work even if they have SAP. I have ordered it fitted to my new 103 Comfortline and will take delivery next weekend. I HOPE it will work with my HTC Touch Diamond which has SAP embedded in WM6.1.
I'll let you guys know how I get on, assuming they can get a kit in that time of course.
        Cheers

          ouch!

I was quoted a $700 bluetooth option or $1400 for the premium bluetooth last week... mmm from reading up on line and in forums though - given the time it has taken... I'm sceptical still!?!!

Yeah, I am going for that $1,400/$1,500 one. I got quoted that from Harding Performance. I would rather spend the extra as it integrates with the instrument cluster and is compatible with the RNS510 if I decide to add that later.

It's fitted, and it works (sort of...)

Picked up the new Golf VI last night, and after 30mins of playing beside the road, I managed to get the HTC Touch HD paired and working with the rSAP Premium system. The only issue is that whilst it will download the SIM phonebook (one number per contact only), it crashes and disconnects after 60 seconds when trying to download all 350 contacts from my phone address book. It seems like a timeout issue as it only gets about 180 then simply drops the connection. That is not a huge problem though and I'll shrink the contact list and try again.
The Touch HD shuts down when the system is connected (as expected) and switches back on rapidly when the car is turned off with no user intervention required. I am using the standard Telstra ROM.
The big issue for me however is that the system only uses the GSM 900/1800 band, not the Next G UMTS 850 band. As such, once you are outside of the city or major regionals the thing has no connection a lot of the time. I pulled over by the side of the Hume last night with "No connection" showing to the VW unit, yet after I turned off the car I instantly had three bars of Next G service on the phone.
I can't live with that, so I'm going to try the Fiscon "Basic Plus" system. this would seem to have all the same integrated functionality, but in an advanced handsfree profile which uses the phone's own radio.
Shame about that, should have checked the specs first and saved $2000.
